as well as helpful tips and ideas on how to get organized in your own home or office.
Can you believe how the summer is flying by? There is still some time to enjoy ice-cream cones on warm summer evenings and picnics with the kids on the weekends, but it would feel a lot better if we felt organized for Back to School! Here are some Posh tips tmake your transition smoother as we head into September and the official end to summer.
- Start your shopping early! Stores are carrying school bags and school supplies already so why not beat the rush before everyone else catches on? Do a little at a time, or one child at a time so you don’t feel overwhelmed.
- Prepare your children for earlier bedtimes. Starting in mid-August, wean your children off late bedtimes and start getting them to sleep about 30 minutes earlier every few days until they are back to their regular bedtime. This way, you won’t have to fight them to get out of bed on the first day of school!
- Meal Planning helps! Ask children for their input into making lunches and have them help if they are old enough to do so. Provide a balanced diet including fruit, vegetables, whole grains, dairy and protein. Make sure lunches are peanut-free.
- Get into a routine. Children thrive on routine which will can benefit the whole family. Designate a homework time, TV/computer time and bedtime and stick to it! Once children get into their new school routine, the household will run like clockwork!
